If a dependency is missing you'll be informed when trying to build zyGrib later on. If you don't see you're particular distribution, just use a composite of required 'dependencies' from them all. Step two: Visit to learn what is required to install zyGrib on 'normal' hardware in a Linux environment (for you're chosen distribution in Linux Deploy). Version 5 is obsolete and cannot download grib files from the grib server. If not, remove zyGrib using you're package manager. Fedora - 'yum install zyGrib' If you are lucky a zyGrib version more recent than 5 and it's dependencies will install. For Debian and Ubuntu - 'apt-get install zygrib' (OR zyGrib). Step one: First, use you're distributions package manager, 'yum' or 'apt' to see if zyGrib is available from a repository. I can confirm zyGrib built from zyGrib-6.1.src installs and successfully runs in the Fedora18 distribution chroot environment. Without going into why this is the case in detail, let me just say it has to do with whether or not those charged with maintaining your distribution have updated to recent versions of zyGrib, and or successfully compiled newer versions. I say 'may' because you're success will depend upon the Linux distribution you chose when using the installer 'Linux Deploy'. To further reward yourself for having tried and succeeded, you may also be able to install zyGrib, the free, opensource grib downloader and viewer. You're reward for success is the ability to use you're rugged, energy efficient, low footprint android device for navigation while underway. If you've followed my instructions here:, you have installed Linux and OpenCPN on you're android device.
